Lyme Disease Support Group


The Greater Boston Lyme Disease Support Group will be held in the Trustees
Room of the Concord Public Library the fourth Thursday of each month 7-9 p.m.
May through October 2010.

The group is available for those who wish to share their experiences with Lyme
disease or learn more about current research or legislation. No reservations.

Concord Shakespeare Festival

A warm welcome to attend this year’s festivities: “Shakespeare: Eternal Fountain of Youth.”

The Shakespeare Festival will be held August 13-15 at the Masonic Temple in Concord Center and will include an “Open Stage & Evening Fest”, Sat.,14th, to which one and all are invited to step forward and tip their caps to the blessed bard.

There is no fee for the festivities; contributions — as fortunes allow — are gratefully received.

Call to Artists

You are invited to submit to a juried exhibit: “Celebrating Concord’s 375th Anniversary” September 4 – October 31 at
51 Walden Street, Concord.

All two-dimensional media up to 30” x 30” are eligible. Imagery celebrating Louisa May Alcott, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and transcendentalism is especially encouraged.

Submissions, wired and ready to hang, may be dropped off at 51 Walden on August 17 and 18 from 10 am to 4 pm. Entry fee is $10 for up to three entries, payable to The Concord Orchestra.

Seashells and More!

Concord artist and teacher Kristina Joyce, will give a talk and drawing demonstration about seashells at the Concord Free Public Library, 129 Main Street, Concord on Wednesday, August 4 at 7 pm. Participants will learn about land and freshwater shells and will be given instructions about keeping a naturalist’s diary. This program, which will compliment the shell exhibit in the Library, is sponsored by the Friends of the Concord Free Public Library and is for children ages 8 and up. Musicians Davis Bates and Roger Tincknell to play at the Concord Free

Musicians Davis Bates and Roger Tincknell will give a concert on the front lawn of the Concord Free Public Library, 129 Main Street, Concord on Wednesday, August 11 at 7 pm. This participatory program celebrates the diverse cultural heritage of the United States in folk songs and is part of the summer music series sponsored by the Friends of

"Swinging on the Green"

Summertime Concert featuring Indian Hill Big Band and Second Wind Quartet will be held on Carlisle Village Green on Sunday, August 29 3-5 PM. Dance and/or sing along, or just lie back and enjoy with friends and neighbors. Bring a blanket and a picnic snack; we'll provide the cookies and lemonade. This program sponsored by Friends of the Carlisle COA and is supported by a grant from the Carlisle Cultural Council. Donations happily accepted to fund COA Programs.
